The Lucas Oil/Brad Jackson Racing livery for the 2017 UK drag racing season was revealed today at Autosport International, at the NEC in Birmingham.
Andy Carter, the four-time winner of the FIA Top Fuel European Championship unveiled the new look at the Lucas Oil/Santa Pod Raceway stand (No.7460) in Hall 7.
“It looks very impressive, yet another great design by team,” Andy said.
Twenty-year-old Brad Jackson has just finished his apprenticeship and qualified as an IMI Light Vehicle Motor Technician, Brad from York stole the Super Pro ET sporting headlines at the end of last year by winning two major events in 21 days. Victory in the Open Sports National Finals at Shakespeare County Raceway helped him retain his APIRA Championship for the second consecutive year and this was followed by a stunning win at the FIA European finals meeting at Santa Pod Raceway.
The 2017 livery was conceived by Wayne Jackson and Pete Walters delivered yet another stunning design, Peter runs the very successful Pete Walters Race Design, a service many racers worldwide are now utilising. It is a pastiche of the eye-catching layout that caught the attention of everyone on so many occasions last season. The successful Black and Silver patchwork theme of the Lucas Shields has evolved and utilises the colours of the logo from Brad Jackson’s main sponsor Lucas Oil to spectacular effect.
Brad was delighted that the car was being unveiled by his sporting hero Andy Carter, Andy drove a Lucas Oil-sponsored Top Fuel dragster to three of his four FIA European Championships and Brad is aiming to emulate his rise to the top.
His chase has begun with engine (V8 Big Block Chevrolet 565, 940 bhp) and gearbox rebuilds that will maximise his dragsters reliability and consistency this season. The car underneath the bodywork is the same as the 2016 specification. The additives and racing oils supplied by Lucas Oil are available once again and they will continue to help to ensure a reliable run of performances of the kind that delivered such an impressive run to success in 2016.
Brad will be on the Lucas Oil/Santa Pod Raceway stand from Thursday 12th of January to Sunday 15th January 2017, Brad, Wayne, Andy and Les Downey will be on stand number 7460 in Hall 7.
